Thunderbird Leader James R. Jones teletyped on date 9/9/2007 8:26 PM. How do I get an ActiveX Plugin for Firefox 2.0.0.6? I see downloads for up to 1.5.x but nothing for 2.0.0.6.
Did I miss something or are they just not available? Thanks Jim You do understand the Firefox can not support the Microsoft ActiveX because of legal issues. That means the outside third parties are trying to add the support through Add-on or plug-in means. If an item is not available at the Mozilla official Add-in site You can try the Extension.Mirror. Don't be a fonted, it's just type casting. Wrote: Thunderbird Leader James R.

Its the number one method for deliverying, virus and malware payloads to PC machines. Plus the ability for any PC Webrowsers abilities to download and automatically run exe files (in the Background) with no intervention from the PC owner. On a Mac for instance you have to give permission at several stages of installing any type of file.
This is to prevent something coming in you don't want to come in. Folks are too trusting.

Or possibly because a very necessary Web Page insists on users using IE in order to obtain data. The one that rankles me most is a genealogy page that presents simply text data but forces me to use IE to obtain it. My bank is the same way. I've argued with them till they are blue in the face but it does no good, they don't know Active X from active sex!:-(.

Firefox is turning into a piece of crap. First, there is only 1 profile, the default profile. Second, after the first 2.0.0.6 update wiped out the profile settings (again), the automatic check for updates was turned off. This morning the customized profile settings went MIA again, Firefox decided it was version 2.0.0.5 (per the help, about firefox) and automatically downloaded 2.0.0.6; even though 2.0.0.6 had already been installed on July 31. It now thinks it is 2.0.0.6, the home page and other profile settings have been reset, and automatic updates turned off for everyt. I am using XP and Ubuntu 7.10.
In both operating system I am using the same profile. (Symbolic link to XP partition). However, due to the difference in versions Firefox always start with a addon check. So why is Ubuntu not on version 2.0.0.8. That would solve this problem. Arjen On 3:03 PM, Arjen Meijer wrote: I am using XP and Ubuntu 7.10. In both operating system I am using the same profile.
